An Input Routine for the Ferranti Mercury Computer

The principal features of an input routine for general use with the Ferranti Mercury Computer are described. The method of writing programs for input by means of this routine is given, and the reasons for including the various facilities are discussed. One of the main features is provision for the liberal use of "symbolic addresses."
