Management in the Computer business

H. N. Coates *

South Eastern Gas, Katharine Street, Croydon, UK

The Computer Manager must turn his gaze inward and study the management organisation of his own department as well as that of others. In general, rules for the efficient running of a computer installations are the same as for any business enterprise; in particular, some areas of work are suggested wherein the computer specialist can be assisted by clerical personnel, both to his own advantage and to that of the department.

Received February 1973.
