Analysis of self-indexing, disc files

This paper discusses the simplest, and often ‘best’, disc file organisation technique that supports all processing modes. Timing formulae are derived for each processing mode and are then compared to isolate significant parameters; once again, it is proven that generalisation, can be misleading.
