Some Helicopter Simulation Studies
Westland Aircraft Ltd., Yeovilton, UK
This paper indicates how use can be made of a medium-size digital computer in studying the response of physical systems associated with a single-main-rotor helicopter. Examples quoted include the response of the helicopter in the longitudinal mode during a power-off landing and take-off, and the response of a propulsion system to the pilot's demands. The salient features of the programs are illustrated by block diagrams.
