Distributed or centralised data base

This paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of centralised and distributed data bases. It outlines a methodology which allows a designer to make a meaningful selection between the centralised and distributed data base approach, taking into account factors of importance such as cost, reliability and the shortage of skilled manpower resources.
