The paper presents the implementation of a simple special purpose language by the DEPOT system. DEPOT has been conceived as a tool for automatic implementation of special purpose languages by preprocessing them into high level languages. The paper contains an informal description of a sample language for elliptic equations in two dimensions and a brief presentation of the basic features of DEPOT. Chosen parts of a translator program written in the DEPOT-MS metalanguage are included to illustrate the use of the DEPOT system.
