Current strategies for computer auditing within an organisation
The City University Business School, Lionel Deney House, 23 Goswell Road, London, UK
Now that most commercial systems are computerised, all auditors must be able to cope with computerised systems. This is not to say that there is not a cast iron case for specialist EDP auditors; but aside from that, every other internal auditor must be able to audit systems which are computerised. Many leaders in the field of internal auditing are suggesting that tomorrow's auditor will be a computer specialist with non-EDP auditors being mere clerical assistants.
