Top-down Semantic Analysis

Attribute grammars, first introduced by Knuth, are powerful tools for defining the semantics of a programming language. After a brief summary of the basic theory which allows the making of hypotheses about the expected acceptable values of the attributes, this work presents a new model in order to handle also the inherited attributes.
