An Analysis of a Hydro-electric System

A mathematical mode of one of the hydro-electric schemes operated by The British Aluminium Co. Ltd. in the Scottish Highlands has been programmed for an Elliott computer. This has facilitated the study of various ways of operating the system and also enabled the evaluation of the gain in overall power production which might be obtained if some possible modification to the system were effected. This paper was presented at the Harrogate Conference of The British Computer Society on 5 July 1960.
