On Implementing two Adaptive Data-compression Schemes
University of Tampere, Department of Computer Science, P.O. Box 607, SF-33101 Tampere, Finland
We discuss the implementation of two locally adaptive data compression methods, called the transpose and interval coding. It is found out that the implementations are extremely efficient compared to other similar methods. Moreover, errors are less catastrophic to these methods than to most adaptive compression schemes.
