The Teaching Language Pascal-FC
Department of Computing, University of Bradford, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD7 1DP
Though the need to provide students of concurrent programming with practical experience has been recognised in the literature, the difficulty of doing so has also been noted. In order to experience a variety of forms of inter-process communication, students have to learn several different languages. In this paper, we describe Pascal-FC, which implements four different styles of communication within a single language framework. Additional features for timing and low-level programming permit the language to be used for constructing small-scale software for embedded systems.
