A computer technique for game-theoretic problems I: chemin-de-fer analyzed

A numerical technique will be described for solving a class of N x 2 matrix games, when N is very large. The method of computing the value of the game of chemin-de-fer and the results of a computation carried out on the Atlas computer will be presented.
