Character Recognition

The following paper has been prepared over several months by the British Computer Society Study Group on Document Handling and Character Recognition. Some while ago, a questionnaire was despatched to a number of potential users of suitable equipment, whose replies have been summarized. The Group is proceeding now with a more detailed study which will include a section on available equipment.
