A method for improving the convergence of Chebyshev series

R. E. Scraton *

University of Bradford, Bradford, UK

Before expanding a function in a Chebyshev series, the argument is subjected to a bilinear transformation. This introduces an additional parameter, whose value can be chosen so as to optimise the convergence of the Chebyshev series.

Received July 1969.
