Short Note

A Note on the Convergence of an Iterative Scheme for Solving a Quadratic Equation

The acceleration of convergence of a well-known iterative scheme for solving a quadratic equation is examined in detail. A method for finding square roots, suitable for implementation on a computer with parallel architecture, is given.
